Ladies Series

The ladies series, first run in 2014, has the aim of providing some events where ladies, many of whom may be beginners, can take part in smaller events away from any crowded and/or testosterone-fuelled competition.  The Series has been a great success; as well as enjoyment it’s produced loads of performance improvement and, again, has helped people to get to know each other.  And don’t be fooled by that description, there have been plenty of top level performances!

Points are awarded based on finishing positions in each race and accumulated throughout the series. At the end of the series awards are given for those athletes with the highest accumulation of points based on the scoring rules explained at the bottom of this page.

Some of the Ladies Series events are also Summer Series events.  In these instances the ladies usually set off in their own separate ‘wave’.

Ladies Series Information

All events are training events organised by Wakefield Triathlon Club for Club Members and are generally free to enter although water based events require payment to Pugneys.

These events can only be run if there are enough volunteers to help marshal / time keep. Therefore please consider volunteering to marshal at one of these or other events through the summer. Ideally we will have at least 3 volunteers for each event. Inclusion in the final series standings does require that you have acted as a marshal or spotted multiple times during the year.

Please allow adequate time (at least 30 minutes) before the start of each event to register, change, set-up etc.

Dates and events are subject to change and any updates and latest details will appear on the WTC website – see and/or on the forum (Facebook/Google)

Final standings will be based on the best 8 scores achieved by each competitor across the series of events.

Points are awarded for each event as follows:
1st place – 50 points
2nd place – 49 points
3rd place – 48 points
49th place – 2 points
50th place and all subsequent placings – 1 point
