Important Notes:

1. All events with the exception of the Calder Clarion Time Trials, Trunce and Sandal Castle runs and the Scissett, Ripon and A Day in the Lakes Triathlon are training events organised by Wakefield Triathlon Club for Club Members and are generally free to enter although water based events require payment to Pugneys.

2. The 10m Time Trials are independent of WTC and are organised by Calder Clarion Cycling club and (usually) start from Heath Common. Although only the 4 events listed count towards the WTC Summer Series, Calder Clarion hold the 10m TT on most Wednesdays from the beginning of May through to the end of August. Details can be found on their website

3. Appearance in the results of the Summer Series is conditional on registering to act, and acting, as a timer &/or marshal for at least one Series event during the summer. Please register your interest on the forum or by email to Guy Willard and the club website calendar will be updated to show who has volunteered for each event. Ideally we will have at least 3 volunteers for each event.

4. Please allow adequate time (at least 15 minutes) before the start of each event to register, change, set-up etc. In particular please note that registration for Calder Clarion events is around 30 minutes before start time.

5. Dates and events are subject to change and any updates and latest details will appear on the WTC website calendar – see &/or on the forum.

6. More detailed event details including course details and routes are available on the forum, web-site and/or calendar.

7. Events shaded in grey (Jane Tomlinson Swim For All and Club Relays) are not Summer Series events but are important weekends in the club calendar.

Go here for maps of the cycle courses for the Summer Series.

  • Winner of each event (or highest placed WTC finisher): 20 points
  • 19 points for second place
  • 18 for third etc
  • 21st and above positions receive 1 point
  • Categories: overall, female and male

Entrants' best eight scores will contribute to their overall Summer Series score.
These eight 'scoring events' must include at least two events including swimming, two events including cycling and two events including running.
There are 20 or more events including running and/or cycling but only eight involving swimming at the moment. Three of these are the external triathlons (Scissett, Ripon and ADITL) that will require extra expenditure so you might wish to take particular note of the 5 club swimming events and their dates.
Entrants must also have marshalled, or acted as a spotter, timer etc at at least one event during the Series in order to be included in the end of Series results.
